The Care You Deserve
Home of Sacred Circle
Empowering maternal health and social connections through group prenatal and postpartum care
Our mission in Sacred Circle is to empower women through social connection and maternal health education. We integrate partner involvement to increase shared decision-making and improve interpersonal communication. We believe that maternal health care demands a holistic approach, one that acknowledges and strengthens the body, mind, and spirit of mothers everywhere.
Who I Am
I am a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife. Beyond those titles, I am a woman who believes in the sheer power and beauty of all women. I champion the right to choose your birth, your way. I practice evidence-based care and uphold the sanctity of informed consent. I support holistic nutrition and whole-hearted participation in the dynamic process of life. I believe, beyond the shadow of a doubt, in the natural, empowering process of birth and the Midwifery Model of Care.
Jessica Johnston CPM, CDM
Every family is unique, so I offer a variety of services personalized for each birthing experience. My goal as your midwife is to help you achieve confidence in your pregnancy, your body, and your knowledge so that you feel enlivened by every choice that you make. I provide evidence-based care that empowers informed consent and honors you, the Mother, as the leader in your care.
YOUR MIDWIFE. YOUR BIRTH. YOUR WAY.
YOUR CHOICES MATTER.
I offer both Home Birth services as well as Birth Center birth experiences, with Water Birth as an availability in both settings. I am a credentialed, licensed provider with admitting privileges for my clients at Integrated Women's Wellness of Anchorage, Heritage Birth Center of Anchorage, and One Family Birth Center. I provide in-home concierge care available to those who qualify. With Elevate Midwifery, your choices absolutely matter, and my job is to help you feel confident every step of the way.
THE UNION OF BIRTH SOCIAL GROUP PRENATAL EDUCATION, PARTNER INVOLVEMENT, AND EXTENSIVE POSTPARTUM GROUP CARE
Following a private visit with me, mothers and their partners will take part in prenatal, educational sessions based on the Birth Social™ model of care with other couples due around the same month. Each woman is given a workbook when they begin care called Birth Social: A Complete Prenatal Guide. This guide covers topics such as nutrition, exercise, breastfeeding, birth supplies, water birth, newborn care, and much more. Mothers are able to cultivate sound prenatal knowledge while developing deeper bonds with other women. This prenatal group transitions seamlessly into a postpartum mothers group that Elevate clients have access to for the first year of postpartum. Click the logo above for more information.
IN-HOME POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
In the first 7 days after birth, you will receive 3-4 comprehensive, nurturing in-home postpartum care visits.
Well mama checks will include vital signs and maternal health, breastfeeding support, and the sharing of information and ideas to help you feel supported both physically and emotionally. Well baby checks include the newborn metabolic screening, CCHD screening, vital signs, weight checks, latch support, and guidance in newborn care. It is important to me that you relax and try to stay in bed for the first week postpartum. So I bring the care to you.
COLLABORATIVE, COOPERATIVE CARE THROUGHOUT YOUR CHILDBEARING YEARS
Get extra personal support throughout the entirety of your birthing journey and beyond. I believe in collaborative care, and the sourcing of many talents to give each woman the best health and life experience possible. I consult with, and refer to, various providers in Anchorage in accordance with each client's needs. This list includes chiropractors, pediatric dentists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, among various others. If your care requires a heightened level of risk management, or well-woman care is needed after your sweet baby is born, I consult and practice cooperative care with Jennifer Hoadley, CNM, ANP.
